What Youll Be Doing As a Support Worker in Northcotts Cobbitty team youll empower customers to live as independently and confidently as possible, supporting them to develop life skills, pursue study or work opportunities and stay actively connected to their community. Responsibilities Support customers in their daily lives helping them build confidence and independence in a group home setting. Use my experience in disability or aged care ideally within group homes. Demonstrate competency in manual handling including hoist operation and repositioning. Assist with personal care hygiene and domestic duties. Build strong respectful relationships with customers and their families. Work collaboratively with customers who have intellectual disabilities, autism and/or physical disabilities. Implement and review Individual Program Plans supporting customers to achieve their goals. Empower support staff to communicate effectively with customers using a personalised person-centred approach. Promote inclusion, independence and community participation.
