ABOUT US Christian Youth Camps Limited (CYC) exists to create opportunities for people to personally encounter the living God through camping, conferencing, facilities and programs. We sum this up in three words : Breathe, Experience, Discover. CYC City is unique camping experience in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Catering year-round for 150 - 200 guests at a time, we have the privilege of hosting a variety of groups with varying needs and objectives. As part of our Catering team, you have the opportunity serve our guests through providing tasty, visually appealing, and healthy meals in a clean, pleasant, and welcoming camp environment. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a highly motivated team player. Someone who is passionate about all things food and hospitality. It is a handson role that requires you to lead and serve your team, in order to provide the best possible experience for our guests. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare, cook and present nutritious, highquality meals in accordance with established menus and service times. Produce meals that are visually appealing, consistent in quality, and compliant with food safety standards. Prepare meals that accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, intolerances, cultural or religious needs). Ensure portion control, temperature monitoring, and quality standards are maintained at all times. Contribute to planning seasonal and varied menus using fresh ingredients. Provide input on meal options that suit the needs of different guest groups (schools, youth groups, corporate groups). Assist in organising meal services including buffet setup and efficient service delivery. Ensure the kitchen, dining area and equipment are maintained in a clean, hygienic and organised condition. Follow all food handling and food safety procedures, including temperature logs, quality checks and accurate recordkeeping. Rotate stock, monitor inventory levels, and assist with ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen remains well stocked. Work collaboratively with the Catering Team to deliver highquality meals on schedule. Provide guidance and support to kitchen assistants and new staff when required. Participate in training related to food safety, kitchen operations and organisational standards. Assist with kitchen administration including stock control, menu planning, dietary management and supplier coordination. Maintain accurate records for food safety compliance, deliveries and stock usage. Participate in Leadership Team meetings when required. Other Requirements Willingness to work some evenings and weekends in line with group bookings. Willingness to uphold CYCs values and actively contribute to a positive team culture. Commitment to maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards. Essential Requirements Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Cook. Demonstrated ability to prepare meals for large groups or highvolume service environments. A Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain). Valid rights to work in Australia.
