About the RoleThe Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking two Central Monitoring Room Operators to join the Transperth Train Operations team on a permanentfulltime basis. Reporting to the Central Monitoring Room Coordinator, this role is responsible for operating CCTV and other surveillance equipment installed across railway stations, car parks, and other PTA properties.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and operate surveillance systems, including CCTV, baseradio, phones, and other CMR equipment, to maintain safety and security across stations and adjoining areas.Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, assessing situations and taking appropriate action in line with Standard Operating Procedures, including alerting relevant personnel.Conduct proactive and reactive safety checks, such as tours of duty, routine equipment testing, and maintenance inspections of stations, car parks, and other PTA property.Provide clear communication and assistance to customers and staff during incidents or disruptions, using Public Address systems and other CMR technology as required.Maintain accurate records and reports, supporting administrative tasks and contributing to continuous safety and security improvements.About YouOperational knowledge, including an understanding of emergency procedures and customer service in an operational setting.Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly communicate with others and deliver messaging to the public.Ability to perform under pressure, demonstrating sound decisionmaking and problemsolving in stressful situations.Effective organisational skills, with the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.Solid computer literacy, including proficiency with surveillance technology, PTZ cameras, and related software.Availability to work across a 24hour, 7day roster, including weekends and public holidays, and must be able to work 10hour shifts.About UsThe Public Transport Authoritys vision is to be recognised as a leader in providing worldclass public transport services and solutions.
