Here is what you should know About the role We are seeking a Fitter and Turner to join our Orchard Workshop at our Pecan farm near Moree at Pallamallawa, NSW. We have large scale Pecan production with ongoing development. The duties include: Checking farming plant and equipment to determine maintenance requirements. Fault finding and repairs to mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on farm machinery and equipment. Study drawing and specifications to fabricate and assemble metal parts to repair farm plant and equipment. Performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment. Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments. Forming metal stock and castings using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal. Where required refer repairs to diesel mechanic. Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Fitting, fitter and turner. At least 2 years experience in a similar role working on farm or factory machinery. Well-developed fitting and/or mechanical skills obtained in a workshop environment. Have a sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge. Experience operating manual lathes and welding equipment is essential. Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks. The ability to participate in ongoing training and be open to new ideas. Focus on safety and quality. Ability to work in a team environment. Previous experience in an agricultural environment. What You Should Know About Our Operations Our business is widespread, growing walnuts, almonds and bees in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland. Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
