Maintenance & Production Trade Assistant Tropico Fruits Pty Ltd is based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and is a long established 40-year-old food manufacturing business renowned for manufacturing quality fruit juices and purees, and value-added fruit preparations. About the Role Were seeking a motivated Maintenance Trade Assistant to join our busy team on a casual basis. A great opportunity for someone whos handson, reliable and eager to learn. Youll be supporting the Maintenance Department Lead with a variety of workshop, production and maintenance tasks, including: Basic assembly and fitting Preventative maintenance and basic machinery servicing Assisting tradespeople with repairs General workshop duties, using hand and power tools Basic welding & fabrication (advantage but not essential) What Were Looking For Previous trade assistant or mechanical experience (preferred) Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Reliable, safety-focused and able to follow instructions Competent with hand and power tools. Ability to troubleshoot Any experience with welding, electrical qualifications, machinery service or assembly is a bonus Key Responsibilities Fault finding and break down repairs Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts Preventative maintenance and servicing of all food production equipment Perform Stick TIG (Stainless Steel) welding Planning and implementation of various maintenance projects Positive attitude and communicate effectively with staff Constant review of production equipment to ensure optimal effectiveness Provide coverage for annual and personal leave of other Maintenance members across all shifts Safety Comply with company safety policies and procedures including utilising the LOTO system Contribute to a culture that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all employees Lead by example at all times Qualifications Maintenance Fitter, Fitter & Turner Restricted Electrical License (Advantageous) Current Drivers License Working and Heights training (Advantageous) Elevated work platform training (Advantageous) Confined space entry certificate (Advantageous) First Aid certificate (Advantageous) Skills and Knowledge Food manufacturing FMCG experience. Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in an industrial/production/facility maintenance environment Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues Planning, organisation and problemsolving skills Strong technical aptitude Reliable, motivated, and punctual Have a strong work ethic Be physically fit and healthy for work Proven ability to work as part of a team Ability to work under limited supervision and independently Understanding and practice of food hygiene and food handling concepts Prioritising work in step with any issues that arise Complete preventative maintenance requests as per schedule and delegation from maintenance supervisor A willingness to work overtime & weekends to support business needs #J-18808-Ljbffr
