The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers to join the Abbey Cafe team. Be guided by our amazing Cafe Coordinator, Trudy, and upskill along the way. Make hot/cold drinks, serve food (no cooking required), greet customers and process orders. You don''t have to be experienced to join our team. We will provide on-site training. You just have to bring your passion, your willingness to learn, and your time to this role. The Abbey Cafe operates Monday - Saturday, 10.00am - 2.00pm. Flexible shifts available. The ideal volunteer will need to have an energetic nature, work well within a small team, and match the vision and goals of the Abbey Museum. We are looking for exceptional team members to ensure the best visitor experience as we build this business and grow our customer base. Responsibilities Greet customers Take orders, process payments, open and close register Make and serve beverages, tailored to the customers preferences Basic food preparation Setting up display cabinet daily (pre-made and fresh supplies) Stock rotation Regular cleaning of work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools Volunteer Capabilities Consistent, high-quality service and customer experience Point of Sale experience Ability to work well with others Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to accurately memorise orders Ability to build a rapport with regular customers Ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure High-level of good hygiene practice Basic level of food preparation skills Category Arts & Culture Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Time Required One or two days per week, 9.00am - 3.00pm (shift can also be compatible with school hours).
