The role McInnes is seeking an experienced, personable and organised WHS Advisor to join our friendly and supportive team. In this role, the successful candidate will handle the day-to-day workplace health and safety working along side our HSEQ Manager. This permanent full-time position is located in the Heyfield office, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Duties will include Implement, monitor and control site safety in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and communicate, develop and review company policy and procedures Develop and review SWMS and Risk Assessments Carry out Site Safety Inspections and Audits Ensure adequate First Aid officers, safety equipment, site provisions and PPE are provided at each site Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions including reporting of identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures to management Ensure that work is being carried out in a safe, productive manner Conduct toolbox meetings and safety meetings Ensure all plant is risk assessed, and comply with relevant OHS regulations Monitor, review, audit and continually improve our Integrated (OH&S, Quality and Environmental) Management Systems and maintain documents and records Implement and maintain accreditation and pre-qualification, and improve pre-qual status Ensure adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, relevant standards and legislation Identify areas of risk and develop measures to reduce and control; assess possible hazards, recommend and initiate appropriate solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures, report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics Ensure all personnel are site inducted & fit for work Update and maintain our online WHS system Assist with client portals, including uploading relevant documentation for the project Maintain compliance with VicRoads and NHVR regulations and laws General administration including emails, filing, answering/making phone calls and printing/scanning Maintain and organise test and tagging for lifting gear, portable electrical appliances/tools and fire extinguishers Ensure all first aid kits are current and are located in all plant and vehicles Consistently check that all plant pre-starts are being completed by the staff Qualifications Proven experience working in a WHS advisory role Hold a qualification/degree related to WHS Hold a construction induction card (white card) Proactive attitude and initiative Exceptional organisational, communication and writing skills High-level of attention to detail Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and Excel Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, but also self-managing What we offer Enjoyable workspace with a friendly and supportive team Competitive remuneration package (starting from $120,000 salary package including company vehicle) Be an influential role in growing McInnes as a civil construction company To find out more information or a position description please email *******@mcinnesearthmoving.com.au or contact Andrew on 0429 482 ***.
