Calling caring souls- Visitor need in Lancefield and surrounds Do you love to spend time with older people? To hear their stories and share a cuppa? We are searching for friendly, engaging Volunteer Visitors that are 18 years of age or older. This position requires patience, compassion and reliability. Volunteer Visitors are required to visit their older friend on a fortnightly basis (weekly where possible), on an ongoing basis doing an activity that you both enjoy. This can be decided on mutual interests and mobility levels. Activities may include sharing a cuppa and a chat, reading or taking a short walk. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people to feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. All volunteers are required to undergo a National Police Check and can expect ongoing support and training from their ACVVS Program Coordinator. Job Details Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular more than 6 months Type of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: Volunteers are required to visit once per fortnight (although we prefer weekly where possible), duration of visit is up to you.
