Overview Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission Darwin NT. 2 year contract. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Associate Director Crime, manage and coordinate the Parole Legal Service for prisoners with mental health conditions and/or cognitive impairments seeking parole. In your role you will manage a caseload and provide advocacy and prepare submissions on behalf of prisoners for consideration by the Parole Board. You will work closely with the parole planning case worker and coordinator of the Parole Legal Service. Qualifications Solicitor with experience in legal practice, including demonstrated experience in advocacy, providing written submissions, complex advice, and undertaking policy and law reform work. High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate effectively with staff, external stakeholders, and clients with complex needs and from diverse backgrounds.
