They are currently seeking a Chef who shares their enthusiasm for great food, creativity, and exceptional guest satisfaction. In this role, the Chef will be responsible for designing and delivering a fresh, flavourdriven, and consistent menu that reflects the cafebars relaxed style. This is a handson position that involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, including menu planning and food preparation, while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. The annual salary for this position is $76,515 to $77,000 plus 11.5% superannuation. Responsibilities Plan and develop seasonal or signature menus aligned with the business, while estimating food and labour costs to ensure profitability. Order food supplies, manage inventory, and oversee proper storage to minimise waste and maintain consistent stock levels. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ranging from cafe comfort food to bar snacks, ensuring quality at all stages: preparation, cooking, and presentation. Monitor taste, appearance, and portion sizes of all dishes to maintain a high standard across the menu. Work closely with the Management, waiting staff, and any consultants (e.g. Nutritionists or Dietitians if needed) to align food offerings with customer needs and business goals. Explain and enforce hygiene regulations, food safety protocols, and cleanliness standards across the kitchen. Demonstrate cooking techniques, onboard new kitchen staff, and provide ongoing guidance to maintain consistency and efficiency. Apply proper techniques for freezing, storing, and preserving ingredients or prepared items to reduce waste and maintain freshness. Innovate and elevate the presentation of dishes to match the cafebars brand, visually appealing plates that photograph well and delight customers. Respond to customer feedback (via staff or reviews) and adjust dishes or service style accordingly to enhance satisfaction and repeat business. Maintain smooth kitchen workflows during peak hours, ensuring orders are completed quickly without compromising quality. Assist in developing and executing special menus or themed food offerings for inhouse events, holidays, or promotions. Qualifications Should have more than one (1) year of experience.
