The NP is a registered nurse authorised to work independently and collaboratively in an advanced clinical role, using evidencebased skills to assess, manage and support people with alcohol and drug use. The temporary TNP role offers a threeyear pathway to endorsed NP status while providing autonomy and leadership in care delivery. Responsibilities Perform focused assessment and comprehensive management of clients in the D&A Service, including ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and referring to allied health professionals. Develop and implement individualized care plans in line with national guidelines, clinical protocols and the patientcentred, strengthsbased approach of the service. Lead clinical practice improvement initiatives, contribute to research, and support the development of educational programs and clinical standards. Collaborate closely with the Nursing Manager, Managers of nursing units, and the Medical Director to provide highstandard, culturally appropriate care. In the temporary TNP role, progressively build clinical expertise, assume scope of practice authority, and pursue endorsed NP qualification while delivering highquality care. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration. Category A vaccination requirements met. Working With Children Check (WWCC). Tertiary qualification at Masters level or progressing toward it. Postgraduate qualification or extensive experience in drug and alcohol nursing. Valid NSW drivers licence.
