About the Role Looking to apply your skills in technical problem solving, process optimisation, regulatory navigation, and team leadership in a high-impact role? We have an exciting new opportunity for a Planning and Process Optimisation Manager to lead the development and execution of secondary mining approvals that underpin sustainable, compliant, and forward-thinking mining operations. As a key leader within the Medium Term Mine Planning team, you will be: Driving the development of secondary mining approvals ensuring safe and reliable operations, ensuring timely submission and approval by relevant authorities. Leading an extensive team (internal and external) to manage underlying technical plans including but not limited to ground / surface water management and associated pit designs. Liaising with a wide array of stakeholders ranging from operational teams on site, technical staff, technical consultants, company functional representatives, and government officers. Designing and implementing a strategic roadmap for field studies, while personally conducting investigations to improve planning and process practices and outcomes. Overseeing development of 1236 month pit designs and preliminary schedules, optimising the sequencing of pit approvals to maintain a steady inventory of approved mining areas. What you can bring to the role Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or suitable technical background is mandatory. Postgraduate qualifications such as a Masters degree are highly regarded. Strong background in understanding and solving technical problems with practical application in mining or related industries. Understanding of regulatory compliance and environmental standards. Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and convey technical concepts clearly. Experienced in process optimisation, continuous improvement and best practice implementation. Familiarity with mine planning principles, especially concerning ground and surface water management and clearing for mining is highly regarded.
