Join us and bring your industry expertise into the classroom as an Engineering Professional Practice Fellow / Lecturer. This teaching-focused role offers a unique opportunity to teach and mentor aspiring engineers and contribute to practice-informed curriculum development. About the Role The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CME) is seeking experienced engineering professionals with a passion for education to join our teaching team. The roles are ideal for professionals with significant experience working in civil, mechanical or construction engineering or a closely related field, who are eager to share their expertise with the next generation of engineers, and help students bridge the gap between theory and practice. Your Responsibilities Actively contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management. Demonstrate best practice, innovative teaching methods which enhance the student experience. Assess and provide feedback on student work, contributing to curriculum innovation and content design. Actively engage with the Civil and Mechanical Engineering disciplines and promote a positive and inclusive work environment. Apply relevant health and safety standards, including required responsibilities of Supervisors for practical classes and research students. Promote the discipline within and outside the University community by engaging in service and leadership roles, as well as outreach activities. In all interactions with staff and students, demonstrate the University values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence and impact. Desirable Chartered status with a professional engineering body. Experience in conducting or managing industry R D projects, and the authorship / dissemination of reports arising. A PhD in an engineering related field. Role Requirements Permanent work rights in Australia are required. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin''s satisfaction. The role is part-time, and we are open to negotiation between FTE. What We Offer You 17% superannuation, plus a variety of salary packaging options. Paid parental leave (26 weeks for the primary caregiver and 3 weeks for non-primary) subject to eligibility criteria.
