About the role We currently have an excellent opportunity on offer for a dedicated and passionate Chef to join our team on a permanent full-time basis in Kelmscott. This role offers 76 hours per fortnight. You will join a committed and inclusive team who take pride in providing residents with a wide variety of nutritious, varied meal options tailored to their dietary requirements. You will maintain the kitchen effectively and efficiently, prioritise safe and hygienic food practices and promote overall wellbeing. As the Senior Chef you will have responsibility for Food Service Assistants during shifts, menu planning and personalising resident care. About you You will be passionate about your craft and set high standards for quality, service delivery and safety, whilst contributing to an environment of collaboration and inclusion. You will be motivated to make a difference and eager to join a team that is dedicated to improving the lives of others, truly living the values of MercyCare every day. Your demonstrated experience of catering to individuals in a residential aged care setting or similar will also help you succeed in this role. Qualifications Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent; Cert IV preferable Safe Food Handling certificate (obtained within last 12 months) Infection Prevention Control Certificate Experience preparing texture-modified meals Sound knowledge and application of Australian Food Safety and hygiene Standards, and dietary nutrition requirements Excellent interpersonal skills, lending well to a diverse and inclusive team environment Excellent time management, attention to detail and record management skills National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 6 months) About the benefits Competitive salary with not-for-profit packaging options up to $18,000!
