About the Opportunity As a remotefirst company, we are seeking a highimpact Senior Elixir Engineer to be a technical pillar in our mission. You will drive the transition from Node to Elixir, influence architectural decisions, and build core platform components built on Elixir and the Ash Framework. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Leadership & Mentorship - Influence the technical direction of the team and take ownership over key components within the platform''s domain. - Coach and mentor junior engineers on complex topics in Elixir, Ash, and our healthcare domain. - Lead by example through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing. 2. Technical Solution & System Design - Own and drive endtoend technical design for complex, multifaced features. - Resolve significant technical ambiguity, translating business and clinical compliance problems into scalable architectural solutions. - Provide clear direction and strong opinions on tradeoffs to engineering leaders and crossfunctional partners. 3. Engineering Craft & Quality - Drive the adoption of engineering excellence, including testing, observability, and CI/CD standards. - Own initiatives to eliminate technical debt and improve application performance. - Set the standard for highquality, idiomatic Elixir code and pragmatic design patterns. Core Requirements - Professional experience writing, deploying, and maintaining production Elixir applications. - Strong understanding of the BEAM VM, OTP, and concurrent, faulttolerant systems. - Experience with Elixir web frameworks such as Ash or Phoenix. - Demonstrable experience in system design and architecture with a portfolio of complex problems. - A strong sense of ownership and passion for code quality, testing, and platform stability. - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor others. - Experience thriving in a remotefirst, asynchronous work environment. Preferred Qualifications - Direct handson experience with the Ash Framework. - Experience building multitenant or multiregion applications supporting AU/US markets. - Experience in a regulated industry like MedTech, HealthTech, or FinTech. - Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Docker, React Native, AWS. - Contributions to opensource Elixir or Ash projects.
