This is an opportunity to join an established multidisciplinary medical team for a six month period to provide clinical services in nephrology and obstetric medicine. The position is part time. The successful applicant will be working one day per week at St George Hospital, Kogarah NSW. The Department of Renal Medicine at St George Hospital seeks a temporary (6 month) part time nephrologist and obstetric medicine physician to provide renal and obstetric medicine services to patients of St George Hospital. Experience at consultant level is required, with particular emphasis in the management of patients with CKD, end stage renal failure and complete obstetric medical issues. Experience in patient centred care in a multidisciplinary context is expected. Subspecialty interest in pre-natal counselling and management is desirable. The Department of Renal Medicine at St George Hospital is a busy service with multiple outpatient CKD and hypertension clinics, approximately 240 dialysis patients and over 250 transplant patients. In addition, there is a growing multidisciplinary renal supportive care program and obstetric medicine service. Research interested include hypertension in pregnancy, hypertension, renal supportive care and clinical trials. There is a growing departmental interest in environmental nephrology. The successful candidate may be eligible for a conjoint appointment to the St George and Sutherland Clinical Campus with the UNSW Sydney. The level of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and experience. The specialist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service. The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.
