On-the-tools role, quality timber, and a supportive team.Wood Machinist Dry Mill / Timber ProcessingWe''re looking for a trade-qualified Wood Machinist to join our timber processing operation. This hands-on role suits someone experienced in machining kiln-dried timber on high-output equipment, with a strong focus on accuracy, recovery, and safe production.What you''ll be doing:Operating and setting up a range of woodworking machines including multi-rip, cross-cut, planer/moulder, docking and edging equipmentProducing precision-machined timber components to required profiles and tolerancesAssessing timber quality, managing defects, and maximising recoveryMonitoring moisture content and dimensional stability of dry timberCompleting test runs, tooling changes, and adjustments for different products and speciesCarrying out routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic fault reportingPerforming measurements and quality checks, recording results, and isolating non-conforming materialWorking safely at all times in line with site procedures, PPE, and compliance requirementsWhat you''ll bringTrade qualification in Wood Machining, Sawmilling, Joinery, or CarpentryExperience in a dry mill or industrial timber processing environmentConfidence operating high-speed production machineryStrong mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail to produce high quality outputsAbility to read cutting lists, production schedules, and profilesA team-focused approach with good communication skillsHighly regardedExperience with optimising scanners or grading systemsForklift or loader licenceKnowledge of timber grading rules or continuous-flow production linesWork environmentPhysically active role requiring standing and manual handlingNoisy, dust-controlled industrial settingShift work and overtime may be requiredIf the above sounds like you, a passionate Timber / Wood Machinist, we want to hear from you!
