Through robust governance frameworks and cultural transformation initiatives, you will deliver measurable outcomes such as improved compliance scores, reduced injury rates, and heightened employee engagement, ultimately contributing to organizational resilience and sustainable performance.You will liaise, influence and guide Volvo Group Australia in relation to all Health, Safety and Wellbeing matters. You will provide leadership and guidance, develop, execute and realise Volvo Group''s safety strategy in addition to driving and embedding a safety culture across the organisation. You''ll act as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing subjectmatter expert, providing specialist advice and support to the business whilst ensuring the Group meets all statutory obligations.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership & Culture: Lead by example to foster a proactive safetyfirst mindset at all levels. Drive cultural change initiatives that embed health, safety, and wellbeing as core organizational values. Influence senior leaders and frontline teams to prioritize safety in decisionmaking and daily practices.Health & Wellbeing Strategy: Develop and implement holistic wellbeing programmes that support physical, mental, and emotional health. Promote engagement and participation in wellbeing initiatives to strengthen organizational resilience.Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice, and internal standards. Establish robust governance frameworks to monitor and enforce safety and wellbeing obligations. Lead audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement programmes to maintain bestinclass safety performance.Policy & Standards: Author and maintain policies that reflect industryleading safety and wellbeing practices. Communicate standards clearly and ensure consistent application across all sites.Reporting & Accountability: Provide transparent reporting on safety performance, compliance status, and cultural progress. Use datadriven insights to inform leadership decisions and drive measurable improvements.Improve the safety culture across Volvo Group Australia focusing on behaviours and mindset.Drive and influence the implementation of best practice H&S processes.Provide expert advice to the Executive Team in all areas of H&S regarding legal requirements, legislation changes and business risks.Support, coach and mentor H&S colleagues.Implement, execute, maintain and continuously improve H&S national strategy.Provide timely and effective H&S advice to stakeholders across the business.Ensure compliance with all reporting of incidents and identification of trends and determining appropriate corrective actions with regard to injury management, occupational health, safety and environmental management.Develop safe work practices, procedures and policies.Take a handson approach to H&S improvement initiatives and actions.Who are you?Skills & AttributesProven ability to lead cultural change and influence safety behaviours.Strong governance and compliance expertise.Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Strategic thinker with a passion for health, wellbeing, and safety excellence.Qualifications & ExperienceTertiary qualification in WHS/OHS or a related discipline.Level 2 Category 4 Workplace Trainer and Assessor.10+ years demonstrated experience within a multisite environment.Extensive knowledge and understanding of current legislation and WHS policy across all Australian jurisdictions.Extensive experience in a manufacturing multisite environment.Qualified WHSO and Safety auditor accreditation.Extensive knowledge of OHS systems and AS 4801.Ability to implement statebased WHS and Workers Compensation legislation and relevant amendments as they occur.Demonstrated experience contractor management processes and critical incident investigations.Experience with reporting and analysis of Health, Safety, Rehabilitations and Compensation data to identify organisational trends.Extensive knowledge and experience working with ISO14001 in general industry.High level communication skills.Human Resource related acumen.What''s in it for you?Negotiated salary based off candidate suitability and expertise plus a shortterm incentive plan and vehicle or vehicle allowance.Modern, worldclass open plan office with fully electric standup desks, an onsite caf, parental room, endofjourney facilities and the latest equipment.Opportunity to leverage a globally aligned and locally authentic icon.
