Snowy Monaro Regional Council employs over 450 staff from all walks of life and working with us will give you the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surrounds, progress your career and make a difference in our local community.About The RoleContribute to the delivery of quality water and wastewater services to the community.Undertake installation, maintenance and monitoring works on Council''s water and wastewater network including water supply and wastewater drainage systems ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.Document, monitor and review water and wastewater data in electronic and hard copy format, reporting anomalies as required.Contribute to crossteam collaboration through information and knowledge sharing and providing support for maintenance and operations of treatment plants.Establish and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships through effective communication to ensure positive outcomes.Be available for weekend and oncall rosters and be available to respond to emergency callouts when required.Monitor own work performance and progress towards the delivery of work plan goals and report on progress to team leaders.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have:Demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar role.Demonstrated ability to operate small plant and hand tools competently. Including lawnmowers, whipper snippers, sludge pumps, powered cutoff saws, grinders, drill, and water snorter (pipeline pressure cleaner).Construction Induction White Card.Ability and willingness to undertake confined spaces training courses including refresher courses.Physically fit to complete all aspects of the position.Experience in Treatment Plant Operations or ability and willingness to undertake training for both water and wastewater operations.Ability and willingness to work weekend and oncall rosters and be available to respond to emergency callouts when required.Demonstrated literacy and computer skills with the ability to complete paper and electronic forms and record data.Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes that contribute to the achievement of the organisation''s strategic goals.Current Class C drivers licence.Desirable criteriaKnowledge and understanding of Radio TelemetryDemonstrated analytical and problem solving skillsExperience in pipeline construction for the laying of water and wastewater mains or ability to learnTraffic Controller CertificateImplement Traffic Control Plans CertificateCertificate of Competence in Excavator OperationCertification in Water Treatment (Cert III) or Certificate in Water Industry OperationsDrivers Licence MR (Medium Rigid)Confined Space CertificateFirst Aid CertificateWorking at Heights CertificateAsbestos Awareness CertificateAsbestos Handling CertificateFluoridation CertificateHow to ApplyApply by submitting your cover letter and resume through the Apply link.
