Environmental Health OfficerLocation: Oran Park, South West SydneyContract Type: 4-month contractPay Rate: Competitive pay ratesAbout the RoleACM is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental Health Officer for a fantastic opportunity to work with a local government division. This is a great chance to get your foot in the door and make a real impact in the community.Key Responsibilities:Conduct food premises inspections using the FPARProvide excellent customer service to retail food proprietorsIssue correspondence including FPAR reports, educational materials, Improvement Notices, and regulatory reports as requiredPerform inspections of beauty salons and skin penetration premisesInvestigate and resolve assigned complaintsAttend pollution incidents and provide pollution control adviceImplement and conduct environmental monitoring and reporting programsLiaise with councils, state government bodies, and community groupsRepresent Council in legal proceedings when requiredPromote environmental health initiatives within the communityUndertake inspections and regulate various premises, including:Food premisesTemporary food stallsMobile food vendorsSkin penetration and hairdressing servicesPublic swimming poolsMortuariesOn-site sewage management systemsDesirable Skills:Strong customer service skills with the ability to negotiate and educate key stakeholdersCapacity to adopt an educational approach with escalation to regulation as requiredWillingness to assist the broader EHO team as neededBenefits:Free onsite parkingOpportunity to gain valuable local government experienceRequirements:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science, applied science or similar degree, with previous experience in an environmental health roleCurrent C Class Driver''s LicenceAvailability for on-call duties outside normal office hoursAbility to conduct inspections outside office hoursWilling to complete:Police checkPre-employment medicalInterested?If this role sounds ideal and you''re eager to showcase your knowledge and skills, we''d love to hear from you!
