With operations across Queensland, NSW and Victoria we have 1,000 plus strong team members who are passionate about our business!AKD is proud of our diverse culture that supports empowered individuals, embraces teamwork, and encourages a simple action orientated ''can do - make it happen'' attitude.Job DescriptionThe successful applicant will:Promote a harm free, psychologically safe, care-oriented workplaceSupport the development and implementing the management of the Environment Health and Safety control systems for the site.Undertake the execution of basic changes for safety initiatives supporting sawmilling, maintenance and further processingAssure environment health and safety control standards are in place and adhered to through site inspections and auditing with Department members and EHSE reps.Assist in the Management of the EH&S systems for data entry and system review to ensure compliance.Communicate and work with internal and external key stakeholdersDevelop toolbox talks and other key correspondence on EHS items for roll out into siteSupport the monitoring and reporting of EHS performance Key KPI''sOther Core AccountabilitiesPromote AKD to customers, suppliers and the community to have an accepted social licensePurchasing via MEX and EH&S product research to sustain and maintain continuous improvementDevelop to draft standards, Safety Alerts and EH&S literature as directedSite tours and orientation as directed by EH&S ManagerSite RTW back up and EH&S coverSupport the roll out of new EH&S systems or processes and user training for the siteMaintain the site Chemical Register in line with national databaseChair the Site Safety Meetings with support from the EHS ManagerSupport risk management process across the site and businessKey to your success in this role will be:Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenExcellent organisational/coordination skills and attention to detailAbility to make connections and foster relationshipsOpen and honest demeanourExperience or knowledge in these areas are not necessary but will be highly regarded:Experience in Environment Health and Safety involved in EH&S outside of their normal duties highly regardedAchieved or willing to undertake further studies in Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety highly regardedEnergetic, ambitious, curious, driven, disciplined to drive continuous improvement and have progressive mindset.Applications will only be accepted via the recruitment portal, not email.For any questions or access issues, please contact [email protected] | COLAC | HEYWOOD | OBERON | TUMUT | YARRAM#J-18808-Ljbffr
