Modern slavery has no place in our operations, and we are committed to identifying, mitigating, and remedying any early indicators or instances of modern slavery. With the support of our supplier partners, we aim to ensure all workers, directly or indirectly employed by ALDI, work in a safe and fair environment."Looking ahead, ALDI Australia plans to:Extend its Corporate Responsibility Supplier Evaluation program into its seafood categoriesIncrease the traceability of supply chain data from its suppliers to enhance risk assessmentsReview its risk assessment practices and tools for effectivenessExpand Responsible Purchasing Practice training for buying teamsALDI Australia also continues its commitment to sustainability, as highlighted in its "Making Sustainability Affordable" report and recent awards, including being named ''Green Supermarket of the Year'' by The Finder Green Awards.The company is phasing out plastic shopping bags, replacing them with paper bags across all stores, and has been recognized for sustainable seafood practices, winning awards in 2023.Environmental initiatives include removing nearly 2,000 tonnes of plastic packaging and achieving a 10% reduction in its fresh produce range within a year.
