Chaplaincy is a vital and expanding part of Anglicare, demanding an intentionally evangelistic and pastorallyoriented ministry. The Chaplain provides spiritual leadership and emotional support to residents, their families and the village staff.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a Christcentred pastoral approach and be an example of Christian living.Support residents with their spiritual needs, facilitate ongoing spiritual growth, enable nonChristian residents to explore the Christian faith and encourage Christian residents in their faith.Oversee the ministry of a parttime Pastoral Carer.Provision of edifying church services, onetoone pastoral care, coordinate Bible study groups and train leaders.When appropriate, provide pastoral support to the families of residents.Work collaboratively with other Chaplains, Pastoral Carers and Village Manager and staff.From time to time organise evangelistic programmes (such as Christianity Explored) and develop and deliver occasional courses/seminars on key issues and special needs (e.g., bereavement, ageing).Develop strong relationships with local churches in the area.Requirements For SuccessRelevant theological training essential; ordained by, or recognised minister of, the Archbishop of the Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church.Able to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and reliability.A loyal, humble, teachable, generous and servanthearted leader.Someone with good listening skills, a pastoral heart and an ability to teach the Scriptures clearly.Demonstrated ability to lead and work harmoniously with others.A willingness to be involved in an Anglican congregation/parish and a proven record of experience in ministry and pastoral care.A personal commitment to growth in the Christian faith.Current valid driver''s licence and access to your own vehicle.A current Working with Children Check clearance.Why Anglicare?We provide meaningful opportunities and choice, both for the individuals and communities we support and for the dedicated people here who make it happen.
