Part time|rostered|42+ hours per fortnight availableOpportunities to increase hours covering transitional shiftsBased at Wallan|shifts run 11:30pm-5:30amYour role:The role calls for experienced practitioners to work as part of AV''s after-hours program, responding to complex after hours matters supporting our 2 residential units, foster carers and any other person needing support. This role is based out of two residential youth houses around Wallan. Shifts are rostered, 2 week roster, 11:30pm-5:30am with opportunities to cover standup shifts 5:30am-9am (penalty rates apply). You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have practical experience dealing with young people in the out of home care sector in a social work/youth work/community services based organisation, dealing with complex trauma based behaviours. The is an outreach role, providing hands on services to colleague''s carers and our young people where additional support is required. This includes in times of crisis, providing additional staffing support in our residential youth houses, supporting young people out of hours with transport, Police or medical matters. You need to be able to make complex decisions, offer expert advice, problem solve and support staff and carers, putting your expertise to use in a hands-on capacity.About youExperience is key, you are making tough decisions and support programs during difficult times.Previous experience working with young people of all ages.Experience working with young people who have or are experiencing self harming, mental health issues or substance dependency/misuse.Calm and resilient.The ability to work effectively with a team to achieve program goals and objectives.Flexibility to cover stand up shifts for a couple of hours when required.What is in it for you?A high hourly pay at SCAHDS level 5 with penalty rates for after hours work ($51 + penalties)Part time rostered work with guaranteed 42+ hours per fortnight10+ hours available for team meetings and covering stand up shiftsAccess to salary packaging to increase your take home payAn established team with support from colleagues and experienced team leadersA varied and challenging yet tremendously rewarding roleReady to take the next step?Please express your interest in the role by Sunday 1st February 2026.
