This is a handson leadership role where you''ll oversee daily caf operations, manage private functions, drive service excellence, and contribute to the unique experience that makes Historic Rivermill a beloved destination.You''ll work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the samefrom busy weekend brunches to private parties in the Barn, Red Table area, and main dining deck, through to largescale events and weddings.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Service DeliveryLead daytoday caf operations ensuring seamless service across all areasOversee private parties and functions in the Barn, Red Table area, and main dining deckEnsure operational efficiency across both the restaurant and wedding ranch operationsLead the transition of the caf''s operational model, experimenting with different structures to optimise performanceMaintain quality assurance across all service touchpointsPeople ManagementManage rostering of all employees across FOH and BOHLead, train, and develop highperforming FOH and BOH teamsProvide regular training sessions to staffEstablish clear communication channels with all team membersAddress and resolve conflicts with a focus on businessforward solutionsDefine and communicate priorities for the teamCollaborate with neighbouring teams, including the marketing team led by BarbaraFull P&L responsibilitydrive profitability across all operationsManage supplies ordering for both FOH and BOHBudget planning with direct reporting to the ownerEquipment oversight including inventory management, equipment quality, and decisions on equipment purchase or leaseCheck for waste reportsWeddings & EventsCollaborate closely with the marketing team to reestablish the wedding ranch as a primary function, drawing on its historical significanceEnsure exceptional delivery of private events and functionsCompliance & SafetyEnsure all operations comply with Queensland state regulations and Gold Coast City Council standardsMaintain food safety compliance (HACCP) and workplace health and safety requirementsEnsure follow the Business Acument, SOPs and SOTsCollaborate with Marketing team to enhance the businessRegularly review and update protocols to maintain compliance, including communication with regulatorsPrioritise the safety of both staff and visitorsEnsure safety protocols exist, especially for horse riding activities, and directly facilitate or inspect their executionStrengthen security measures to ensure entrance controlMaintain highquality reports and logs to ensure a defensible position in case of injuries or damagesAdministration & DocumentationGuide ADMIN in document maintenance using OneDriveYou''ll also guide her to file documents correctly and without miss, following the "Family Office Handbook" standardsResolve problems with suppliers and manage vendor relationshipsAbout YouEssential CertificationsCurrent RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)Food Safety Supervisor CertificateFirst Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)Experience & SkillsHas dabbled in operations and change management, preferably while sipping a coffee in hospitalityStrong leadership and team management skills.
