Trauma Teddy Team Member Volunteer - VICRole: Trauma Teddy Team Member Volunteer at Australian Red Cross, Docklands, Melbourne VIC. This ongoing volunteer opportunity supports the Trauma Teddy program, which provides comfort and distraction through knitted teddies distributed nationally to hospitals, fire stations, ambulance services and other relief settings.OverviewJoin us onsite at our Docklands office on Thursdays from 10am to approximately 1pm to assist the Trauma Teddy Team in quality control and repair of knitted Trauma Teddies donated by volunteers. You do not need to know how to knit, but basic to medium sewing skills are helpful.ResponsibilitiesQuality check and repair Trauma Teddies to ensure they meet distribution standards.Utilise basic to medium sewing skills to assist with repairs as needed.Attend the weekly session at Flinders Street, Docklands location when able.Help prepare teddy stock for the Summer Activation period when large numbers may be required by Emergency Services Teams.Qualifications & ExpectationsNo knitting required; knitting experience is advantageous but not mandatory.Attendance is not mandatory every week; aim to participate a couple of times per month when possible.Program ContextTrauma Teddy is the cuddly face of Australian Red Cross.
