We manage and maintain over 2,000km of Scotland''s trunk road network, tackling just about every imaginable task and working round the clock to help keep Scotland moving.The North West Trunk Road Unit spans some 1,422km of trunk road through some of the most scenic parts of the country. It covers a huge area of Scotland, from Thurso and Wick in the very north of the Highlands down to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling.We have vacancies for Special Project Operatives to join our existing operations team. You will report to the Special Projects Manager and will be responsible to help keeping Scotland moving.Responsibilities and ActivitiesCarrying out kerbing, ducting, drainage and fencing worksPerforming seawall and ironwork repairsDelivering emergency works and footway improvementsManaging Traffic Control on siteKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceHGV Licence, Class 1 is desirableGood understanding of Health & Safety Rules and ProceduresPrevious roadworking experience is desirable, but full training will be providedWillingness to undertake training and achieve competence in all aspects of the rolePhysically fit, and able to work in challenging outdoor conditionsExperience operating small plant machineryPlant, Traffic Management & Health & Safety tickets are an advantageFlexibility to work and stay from home as requiredWhy BEAR?At the heart of our success is our people talented, innovative, and dedicated individuals who drive everything we do.
