These large, complex, and multidisciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a worldclass gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and NonProcess Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.Job SummaryIn this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration. Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures. Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties. Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.Major ResponsibilitiesSubcontract ManagementImplement the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project''s agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract ManagementGather and compile support data for the preparation of documents and the management of subcontractsAssist Subcontract Manager or more senior Subcontract Professionals in completion of the various tasks required by the Contract/Subcontract Management Guidebook, Standard Work Process Procedures, and automated subcontract management systemsMonitor areas of subcontract performance, as assignedConduct investigations and inquiries into specific subcontract problems, as assignedOrganize materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations, and training sessions, and prepare periodic status reportsWork with Digital Supply Chain and other Automation ToolsSubcontract FormationDuties and responsibilities involve the formation and award of small value, routinetype subcontractsAssist with negotiations in commitment of contracts, but direct negotiation in small value contractsDevelop and issue subcontracts and services agreements as assignedReceive bids and evaluate bids commerciallyPrepare Commercial Bid Summary and recommendationsRecommend and secure approvals in accordance with established proceduresPrepare subcontract documents for executionPrepare and maintain control and status reporting documentsPrepare and organize assigned meetings, such as prebid, bid clarification and preaward meetings, for the purpose of ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and contractor on all contractual mattersEducation And Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor''s degree (or international equivalent) and 58 years of relevant experience or 912 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge And SkillsSeasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective waysBroad experience in the formation, negotiation and award of all types of contracts, preferably with crossfunctional experience in two or more contract disciplines (e.g. formation, administration, prime, etc.)Knowledge of local business capability in the Cloncurry / Mt Isa region is an asset.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
