The project runs as a full year of activities, culminating in the finalists exhibition held between September and November. It is designed to shine a light on local talent and encourage the wider community to engage with the arts.About the RoleThis role is primarily focused on the Brisbane Portrait Prize, supporting the delivery of the exhibition and related events throughout the year.You''ll also pitch in across other projects including Something Digital and Something Fest, a week-long festival celebrating digital, innovation, and technology in August. From time to time, you may also support other events produced by our team.ResponsibilitiesLiaising with the State Library of Queensland''s Exhibitions & Events teamsCoordinating the volunteer program including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and ontheday managementManaging sponsor events during the finalists exhibitionPlanning and delivering smaller BPP events in the leadup to the exhibitionOverseeing suppliers for satellite showcase exhibitionsSupporting and helping manage the artist entry processMaintaining regular communication with artists throughout the yearTaking the lead on delivering Opening NightAssisting with governance tasks and documentationStage Management for larger productions including Tech Sheets, AV Management, Speaker Management prior to the event and on the daySupporting other activations and events as neededAbout YouYou''re someone who cares about creating thoughtful, wellexecuted experiences whether they take the form of exhibitions, activations, events, or something in between.You might be early in your career and keen to grow, or bring more experience and be looking for a creative, handson role in a collaborative team.You don''t need to be an expert in the arts, but you should have a genuine interest and be curious to learn.A passion for producing meaningful experiences from exhibitions to live events and everything that connects themAn interest in visual arts and culture, and a willingness to dive deeperPractical thinking and problem solving you know how to weigh up what''s needed, find sensible solutions, and make things happenThe ability to draw on past experiences and apply what you''ve learned to new challengesConfidence with tech and digital tools we use Airtable, Asana, Brevo, Paperform, and Connect Teams, and we''re always open to smarter systemsA proactive approach you''re good at spotting what needs doing and stepping in to make it happenA love of efficiency and clever workarounds, especially when it makes things run betterStrong attention to detail, with the ability to juggle moving parts without dropping the ballClear, confident communication skills, and a patient, peoplefocused approachA sense of humour, adaptability, and team spirit we''re a small, closeknit team and everyone rolls up their sleevesLogistical DetailsRole Type: Part time 3-4 days per week (though please chat to us if you need something slightly different).
