Coordinator Building Approvals (Building Surveyor)Full time, ongoing positionGreat opportunity to join our Building Services team in performing a critical role in building complianceCouncil provides a full private use motor vehicle for the role$150,113 - $161,348 per annum plus Super and RDOsAbout The RoleActing under the delegation of the Municipal Building Surveyor, you''ll oversee endtoend building approvals, manage statutory obligations, and ensure highquality outcomes for our community. This is a leadership role where you''ll drive innovation, mentor staff, and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.About YouYou are a registered Building Surveyor (Unlimited) with extensive knowledge of the Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations 2018. You bring strong leadership skills, practical experience in building surveying, and the ability to interpret complex legislation. Your communication skills allow you to engage confidently with staff, industry professionals, and the community. You''re passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will coordinate the Building Approvals Unit, ensuring timely assessment and issuance of building permits, occupancy permits, and certificates of final inspection. You''ll lead and mentor your team, providing guidance and development opportunities to maintain high standards of service delivery. In this role, you''ll also manage enforcement functions, investigate complaints, and administer the Building Act and Regulations to ensure compliance.
