ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join Civic Disability Services in the position of Behaviour Support Practitioner Team Leader.Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the BSP Team Leader is responsible for delivering highquality, evidencebased, and timely behaviour support services to clients, promoting positive mental and emotional wellbeing. This role also involves supervising, supporting, and coaching the BSP team to foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and bestpractice approaches.Key responsibilities include coordinating the provision of positive behaviour support services to assess and treat individuals with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary team while providing guidance and mentorship to junior practitioners.Proximity to the head office is not a priority, as the caseload spans across the Sutherland Shire, Sydney Metro, and surrounding areas.RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor, support and supervise junior team members including reviewing plans, support for restrictive practice and panel reviews.Maintain supervision schedules, contracts and notes.Coach, advise and provide jobsupport to team members and carers to support the development of their skills and knowledge in terms of developmental milestones, evidencebased interventions and practice to improve client outcomes.Deliver evidencebased psychological assessment, behavioural management support and other psychotherapeutic treatments/interventions.Liaise with families, guardians, advocates and external stakeholders/agencies where appropriate in relation to clients.Provide psychoeducational programmes (including Behaviour Support Plans) and support for staff, carers and family members in the implementation of programmes.Maintain currency of knowledge of legislation, policy and best practice in relation to providing Positive Behaviour Support, such as the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Practice Standards.QUALIFICATIONS2+ years'' experience working as an NDIS Advanced/Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner.Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related field.Demonstrated expertise in conducting evidencebased psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions in a community health and/or disability setting and, in particular, with people with challenging behaviours.Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the Quality & Safeguarding Commission.An understanding of multistate Behaviour Support regulation (desirable).Commitment to ongoing evidencebased practice and professional growth and development.A passion for working with clients, colleagues, families and others to find innovative and practical solutions that allow clients to realise their human potential.Sound timemanagement skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and complete tasks.ABOUT CIVICOur vision of Human Potential, Realised is about striving to create a society where people have the opportunity to achieve their goals and participate as a valued member of the community.
