This is a Casual Bus Driverrole working on weekends and late weeknights from our Rouse Hill or other Region 4 depots located at Foundry Road, Seven Hills and Dural.As a Bus Driver, you will assist customers in reaching their destinations and meet their commitments by providing a safe and comfortable journey.We are seeking experienced bus drivers with availability to work a Saturday night (minimum) or Saturday and Sunday nights. You need to be willing to work the afternoon and late evening shift hours (12:00 to 29:00).Key ResponsibilitiesDelivering a prompt and reliable transport serviceCarry out predeparture checks and reporting mechanical defectsDrive effectively and efficiently while ensuring passengers safety and comfortIdentify, address and report unsafe or unhealthy conditions, practices or behaviour in the workplaceMaintain up to date knowledge of road laws and company policiesResponsibility of using OPAL ticket machines and checking passesAccurately completing recording procedures such as daily journals, time records, customer loading data and fuel and charter recordsSkills, Attributes and ExperienceHave a MR or above Heavy Vehicle Driver''s Licence (e.g. MR, HR, etc)Own and carry as needed, a Heavy Vehicle Logbook (available from Service NSW)Have an NSW Bus Drivers Authority (DA)Have a paid work Working with Children CheckHave a proven history of 8 to 12 months experience driving in a 12.5 m or larger bus or truckHave geographic knowledge and familiarity of the Sydney Metropolitan area and be willing to operate shifts at times in the Blue Mountains region.Availability to work weekends and midweek night rail shifts as listed.Have a minimum availability to operate PM shiftsShift AvailabilityMidweek nights ~6pm to 8pm+ start times, to ~2am to 3:30pm+ finishing timesWeekends ~midday to 4:40pm start times, to ~2am to 3:30pm+ finishing timesAvailability to operate both AM and PM shifts on weekends is highly regardedAdditional RequirementsProvide your current RMS driving historyKnowledge and understanding of Work, Health and Safety PracticesAlways act safelyHave excellent customer service skillsHave excellent communication skillsA positive, proactive approach and be well presented at all timesProvide an Australian passport/current Australian working statusFlexibility of times for different shiftsOffered to youWeekend and midweek Rail Replacement & Special Event shifts where the need arisesService route shift opportunities, in the absents of rail shiftsMarket leading rates of payComprehensive Driving Assessment and trainingCareer advancement opportunitiesApply for this role at CDC NSW by clicking on the "APPLY NOW" button.CDCNSW is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and we encourage applications from all diversity groups and ages such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTI, people with disabilities, religious beliefs and ethnicity.
