Project Manager Melbourne CBDDepartment of Justice and Community Safety, VictoriaJoin to apply for the Project Manager Melbourne CBD role at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria.About This RoleDelivers highvalue, highrisk asset and infrastructure projects in correctional facilities.Ongoing, fulltime opportunity.VPS Grade 5: $113,022 $136,747 plus superannuation.About the Business UnitThe Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.The Custodial Operations Division manages systemwide issues in the custodial system and delivers systemwide support services.About the RoleThe Contracts and Infrastructure Branch is responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, and the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections and Justice Services'' prisons and related infrastructure. This includes the development and implementation of all required systems and policies to sustain this diverse asset portfolio.The management of major contracts, including private prisons, and the oversight of a significant number of the group''s contracts is a core function of the Branch. It also represents the group''s interest on infrastructure and construction projects to ensure the best possible outcomes for stakeholders and commercial partners.Some of Your Duties Will IncludeLead, manage and deliver highvalue, highrisk asset and infrastructure projects, contracts and minor capital works for custodial facilities across Victoria, ensuring timely completions within project cost, scope and quality. This may include business case development, undertaking strategic assessments, managing organisational change, and implementing asset and infrastructure upgrade projects, minor new builds and refurbishments.Manage the progress of assigned projects and tasks including the project budget, identification and communication of identified risks, the project risk register, cost reconciliations, invoice management (as delegated) and the development of feasibility options papers. Work collaboratively to mitigate and resolve matters as required.Prepare reports, briefings and presentations to influence stakeholders to achieve project objectives, working collaboratively within a team of multidisciplinary project managers and technical experts, and providing project management with expert advice and guidance to project team members.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About YouDemonstrated project management experience in construction infrastructure upgrade projects, building services, facilities, new builds, and/or refurbishments environments.Proven experience coordinating and developing business cases including feasibility/options papers for infrastructure projects is desirable.Experience in writing, editing, communication and presentation skills including knowledge of technical documentation principles.Experience in delivering the full life cycle of construction projects including development of briefs, procurement activities and monitoring programme and budget.Knowledge of the functions and procedures of Corrections and Justice Services is desirable.QualificationsDemonstrated relevant experience in a similar role, including time and cost management, procurement process and attention to detail and accuracy, is essential.An appropriate qualification in project management, civil construction, engineering, architecture or a proven track record of equivalent is highly desirable.Demonstrated proficiency (intermediate to advanced) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), email management and internet knowledge, is required.
