Are you ready to let your food fly high?AVIATION SUPPORT BUSINESS OF THE YEAR 2025AUSTRALASIA''s AIRLINE CATERER OF THE YEAR 2025We currently have an exciting opportunity that has become available for an experienced and qualified Executive Sous Chef to assist and lead our successful Flight Catering team and commercial kitchens at Brisbane Airport on a full-time basis.What does a typical day look like?You will be supporting our Executive Chef with the overall delivery of planning, production and profitability. To achieve this you will provide operational direction, daily decision making, and guidance to a team of Chefs and Catering Attendants.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily and weekly planning of food preparation, shift allocation and rostering, ordering and purchasing of produce through our systems, attend business strategy and operational meetings, champion a safe work environment and promote a winning culture.In a Nutshell, Your Main Responsibilities AreBe responsible for maintaining and delivering world class airline food quality standards across all classes (Economy, Premium, Business and First)Oversee department planning and execute activities to ensure budgeted production and financial targets are achievedCoordinate labor, resources, materials and equipment to ensure efficient execution of operational plans and Master Production Schedule (MPS)Manage all aspects of food catering, including meal presentations, charter catering, menu changes and auditsFocus on continuous efficiency and productivity improvementMotivate, mentor and develop the Kitchen team at all levelsAdhere to company HACCP and WHS policiesCompliance to Waste Management and Environmental policies and minimize cost controls where feasibleKeep all Kitchen staff up to date with required training (MLZ modules)Work with all stakeholders, Dept Heads and various support teams for BAUMaintain clear lines of communication across all operational departments and update your production teams and supervisors regularlyCollaborate with the wider business to align production operations with overall strategyWhat do you need to be successful in securing this role?Trade qualified with experience minimum to Senior Sous Chef Level or higherExposure to large or bulk catering facilities in manufacturing or FMCGStrong understanding of HACCP / Food Safety / WHS and QAStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time and interpersonal management skillsExperience in managing a large cross functional team (over 100 staff)Planning or project management skills highly desiredPrevious Airline Catering experience highly desired but not essentialWhat''s in it for you?Attractive salary and staff benefits5 weeks paid Annual Leave per yearFree onsite parking, free daily hot meals and uniforms providedCareer advancement opportunities, training, upskilling and developmentGrow your culinary career with a hand in strategy and planning managementBe part of a business that is committed to giving back to our people and the community, through environmental, community and wellbeing initiativesBe part of a close knit, dedicated team with one-on-one mentoringAccess to our Employee Benefits Program including a wellbeing platform, discounted private health insurance and access to specials and discounts from over 700 retailersAbout UsWe are Australia''s largest and most admired inflight catering and retail partner.
