Mechanics must be physically fit experienced motor mechanic with good attention to details to work in our busy bus service centre. The primary duties of a mechanic include performing diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults, analysing diagnostic test results, and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components for the fleet of buses and heavy vehicles.Mechanics need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with customers daily.Mechanic ResponsibilitiesGeneral servicing and maintenance of vehicles including checking lighting systems and performing preventative maintenanceSafety inspections, adhering to an inspection procedure checklistBreakdown and mechanical repairs, providing customers with estimated time for repairsRunning diagnostic testsRepairing and replacing dysfunctional partsRepairing, maintaining, and replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systemsRoad test driving vehicles to gauge performanceWheel alignments/wheel balancingMaintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles and a parts inventoryMaintaining equipment and tools, and a clean working environmentConducting quality checks on all workMechanic RequirementsDegree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineeringValid driver''s licenseAptitude for mathematics and scienceAdvanced knowledge of diesel engine componentsGood IT and diagnostic skillsPhysically fit and able to lift up to 150 poundsProficiency with maintenance and repair toolsGood interpersonal skillsGood organization skillsStay Safe While Job HuntingWe vet all employer accounts and do our best to keep job ads safe, but scams can still occur.
