Our focus on customer service has helped forge our reputation for safety, quality, and reliability.OverviewDue to ongoing growth we are currently looking to recruit a Fully Qualified Freight Train Driver for work out of Melbourne.ResponsibilitiesAssist with freight haulage tasks in accordance with SSR policies and procedures.Prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations by following SSR procedures.Perform minor fault repairs and field failure rectifications.Undertake maintenance tasks and assist rollingstock maintainers to validate the integrity of rolling stock (including brakes) and ensure all operational systems are safe and effective.Conduct oneself in a professional manner with a strong customer and safety focus.Ensure a commitment to established processes and risk management with the objective of zero injuries.Support a drug and alcoholfree work environment with regular testing and a zero tolerance for positive results.Work EnvironmentFrequent remote working away from a home depot (booking off).Rostering that will vary upon customer requirements, including weekends and shift work.QualificationsCurrent or previous VIC Safeworking Qualifications.Evidence of route qualifications/experience.Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical or willingness to obtain one.Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.A high level of literacy, numeracy and comprehension skills.A commitment to a safety culture and a cando customer focus.Professionalism, integrity, reliability and a positive attitude.ApplicationPlease submit your application including resume and cover letter addressing the key requirements via Seek.
