Join us to apply for the School Support Officer role at Foundation House Victoria (VFST Inc.)Ongoing position, available full-time or part-time (0.8/1.0 EFT)Based in our Sunshine office, with onsite parking, close to public transportSalary of 106-111k + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (full-time equivalent)Rebuilding Shattered Lives - supporting refugees to recover from traumaYour ImpactThe School Support Officer (SSO) role is part of the Education and Early Years (EEY) team within our Community and Sector Capacity Building program at Foundation House.The CSCB Program supports communities from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to recover from trauma, resettle positively, and thrive across Victoria, while also strengthening the capacity of the refugee and humanitarian service sector.As a School Support Officer, you will help improve wellbeing and educational outcomes for children, young people, and families from refugee backgrounds by building the capacity of school staff to work effectively with these communities.The RoleReporting to the RESP Team Leader, you will collaborate to build the capacity of schools and staff working with the RESP Program, which aims to support schools in fostering positive achievement, engagement, and wellbeing outcomes for refugee students and their families.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport participating schools to increase inclusion of children, young people, and families from refugee backgrounds.Utilize the VFST framework and RESP Facilitator''s Manual to facilitate positive change.Lead professional learning sessions to enhance school staff''s knowledge and skills.Develop professional learning resources in partnership with stakeholders.Maintain positive relationships within networks and partnerships to support refugee inclusion.Advise and advocate for health-promoting environments in schools.Participate in communication strategies to promote the Program and VFST''s work.This is an ongoing position at our Sunshine office, available on a full-time or part-time (0.8 EFT) basis.What You''ll NeedTo succeed, you should positively respond to the following criteria:Qualifications in education, social work, community development, health promotion, or related fields.Leadership skills and experience supporting practitioners in educational settings.Ability to collaborate with professionals and partners in the education sector.Strong project management skills.Experience developing and delivering professional learning programs.Excellent communication skills.Stakeholder engagement skills, including influencing and negotiating complex issues.What We OfferAn attractive remuneration package of $106-111k plus super and annual leave loading (pro-rata for 0.8 EFT).Salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 and novated car leasing options.A meaningful role making a difference in people''s lives.A diverse, supportive team environment.Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and families.Our CommitmentFoundation House is an inclusive employer committed to diversity and equity.
