This includes supporting shutdowns, rebuilds, and installations with a focus on boiler making and welding.Key responsibilities include:Conducting preventative maintenance and inspections on crushers, conveyors, pumps, SAG and Ball Mills, and other fixed plant equipmentPerforming mechanical repairs during planned shutdowns and rebuilds, including cyclone and crusher rebuildsFabricating and installing components for shutdown preparation and executionRaising and closing work orders in SAP and creating notifications for defect eliminationCoordinating resources and time slots for maintenance tasks and equipment modificationsSupervising contractors during shutdowns and ensuring safety complianceProviding technical input for standard jobs and equipment upgradesSupporting apprentices and contributing to team mentoring and developmentAbout youThe ideal candidate will hold a mechanical trade qualification and have experience in mining or heavy industry. You should be confident using SAP for work orders and notifications and hold a forklift ticket (essential) and ideally a crane ticket. You must have basic computer literacy, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to safety and teamwork. Experience with fabrication, welding, and shutdown preparation is highly regarded.
