Our network of 101 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and affiliated JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.Position SummaryThe Outreach Coordinator is responsible for engaging prospective and current clients to raise awareness of Met Council''s services, with a primary focus on Medicaid recipients. This role conducts outreach to individuals and community organizations, helping clients access benefits and resources that support their health and wellbeing. The Coordinator will also assist with outreach for other programs as priorities evolve, ensuring that vulnerable populations are connected to essential services.The Outreach Coordinator will build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and community partners, attend events, and organize outreach campaigns to increase program participation. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to navigate complex benefits systems. The Coordinator will track outreach activities and client engagement in Met Council''s database and provide regular updates to program leadership.Community Outreach & EngagementConduct outreach to prospective and current clients, with a focus on Medicaid recipients, to raise awareness of available services.Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, agencies, and partners to foster collaboration and referral pipelines.Organize and participate in community events, meetings, and campaigns to promote Met Council programs.Provide accurate information and materials about services to clients and partners.Client Support & FollowUpMaintain regular communication with clients and community partners to ensure effective engagement and service delivery.Assist clients in navigating benefits and resources and refer them to appropriate programs as needed.Document outreach activities, client interactions, and followups in the CRM system.Data Management & ReportingTrack outreach metrics and maintain accurate records of contacts and engagement.Prepare reports and updates for program leadership and assist with grant compliance requirements.CrossFunctional CollaborationCoordinate with internal teams to align outreach efforts with program goals.Represent Met Council in external meetings and community forums as needed.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport outreach for other programs as priorities evolve.Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions.Additional responsibilities as required.Cultural sensitivity and professionalism when working with clients, colleagues, and partners from all backgrounds.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking and presenting in community settings.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, organizations, and community leaders.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and schedules.Comfort using online technologies and CRM systems; ability to ensure accurate documentation of agency information.Professionalism and patience in serving diverse client needs.Creative problemsolving skills and ability to implement solutions as needed.Reliability and punctuality for meetings and outreach commitments.Skill and EducationBachelor''s degree or equivalent work experience (required).Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit, community outreach, social services, or related fields.Fluency in English (written and verbal) required; Yiddish and/or Russian a plus.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems a plus.Physical DemandsRequired Constantly: Walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, computer input, finger dexterity and coordination of hand, eye and footRequired Frequently: Standing and climbing stairs; carrying laptop & files (approx. 810 lbs)Required Occasionally: Reaching above the shoulder, and lifting 525 pounds, pushing and pullingSpecial RequirementsThis position requires a willingness to travel locally in Brooklyn and on occasion to Manhattan and other locations in NYC.Compensation$55,000 per year - $75,000 per year.BenefitsMajor medical, dental, vision and life insurance; pretax commuter benefits; FSA; 403(b) with employer contribution; plus generous vacation, sick leave and holidays.#J-18808-Ljbffr
