Senior Clinician Parttime (0.8 FTE) FitzroyAbout the RolePermanent parttime Senior Allied Health role working within a multidisciplinary team providing clinical assessment, treatment and support to clients who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties and their families.ResponsibilitiesProvide facetoface and telephone assessments, including mental state, risk assessment and planning appropriate crisis interventions in the least restrictive environment.Use knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and related legislation to ensure least restrictive practice and protect consumer rights.Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written proficiency.Provide leadership and direction in enhancing service delivery, communication and interaction within the Acute Response Service.Actively participate in the development and supervision of junior staff and students.Triage and screen referrals, determining eligibility for adult mental health programmes and prioritising responses.Conduct complex community assessments partnered with police officers as part of the MHaP (PACERliest) response initiative.Provide ongoing expert advice, education and liaison to police, general practitioners, ED staff, agencies and other service providers regarding mental illness, selfharm, suicide, substance misuse and complex care situations.Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and consult on specialist matters.Develop knowledge restaurant local resources, making appropriate referrals, offering advocacy and initiating service development to enhance consumer access.Promote strong interagency relationships and ensure timely and accurate information sharing between shared consumers.Show capacity to work independently in the community and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Participate in policy and procedure review, portfolio management, committee participation and servicedelivery improvement initiatives.Facilitate professional exclaimed personally development through networking with professional and community groups.Contribute to identifying, defining and prioritising education and development within the service.Maintain awareness of the National Access Emergency Targets (NEAT) and hide how these are operationalised within EDs.Share information openly with consumers.Actively challenge stigmatising attitudes and discrimination, supporting a culture of inclusion.QualificationsRegistration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); must hold a credential in Nursing (Division 1 or 3), Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy,.Minimum of 5 years postqualification clinical experience within mental health services.A current Victorian driver''s licence.A valid nationally coordinated criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one.Demonstrated ability to workagues as both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Extensive experience conducting comprehensive assessments, including mental state, risk assessment and crisis intervention planning.Knowledge and ability to provide Psychiatric Triage services.Comprehensive understanding of the Mental Health Act 2014 and related legislation.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with proven ability to liaise and negotiate with staff, agencies and the wider service system.Awareness of the Recovery Framework, National Access Emergency Targets and related operational requirements.Postgraduate qualifications in mental health or progress towards such qualifications are desirable.BenefitsFocus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programs.Confidential, solutionsfocused employee counselling.Healthy work/life balance encouraged; fulltime equivalents include a monthly accrued day off.Access to a Fitness Passport for extensive fitness facility options.Salary packaging options to increase takehome pay.Convenient Fitzroy location, close to public transport and amenities.Discounts and promotions via the Foundation.Regular professional development opportunities to support career goals.Culture of continuous improvement.ApplicationAttach your resume and cover letter to your application.Shortlisting will commence immediately; we encourage prompt Monad applications as the advert may close early.Closing Date 12 February 2026 11:59 pmReconciliation Action PlanAt St Vincent''s we acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, equitable and inclusive for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Employees.
