This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic, commercially minded communications professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys shaping the narrative on issues that matter to business, government and the broader economy. The Opportunity As Head of Corporate Affairs, you will lead the Corporate Affairs function and be responsible for developing and delivering the organisations external communications strategy. Your focus will be on enhancing and protecting a strong, market-leading brand through public relations, market engagement, thought leadership and strategic issues management. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this is a hands on role where you will also play a key role supporting enterprise-wide initiatives and contributing to team engagement and capability development. As a senior leader within the Communications function and a member of the Business Development & Marketing Leadership Group, you will work closely with peers and senior stakeholders across the organisation to deliver high-impact communications and increase the organisations share of voice. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver issues-led profiling plans aligned to the organisations strategic priorities, core sectors and areas of expertise. Lead the day-to-day execution of the organisations media engagement strategy, including: Building and sustaining strong relationships with tier-one media outlets Proactively pitching commentary on market, regulatory and economic issues relevant to clients and stakeholders Preparing media messaging, talking points and executive briefs Drafting or providing editorial guidance on opinion pieces Designing and delivering media training programs Design and deliver end-to-end thought leadership and go-to-market campaigns, including topic identification, campaign management, stakeholder engagement and editorial oversight. Support best-practice crisis communications and issues management. Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, providing clear, pragmatic and strategic counsel. Lead, coach and develop a high-performing communications team, ensuring effective resourcing, prioritisation and performance. Build and maintain a strong internal and external reputation for the Corporate Affairs function. Measure, analyse and report on the effectiveness of external communications activities. Support the Director of Communications on strategic projects and initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to enhance impact and engagement. About You You are a senior Corporate Affairs or Communications leader with recognised expertise in your field and a passion for shaping reputation and influence. You bring a strong understanding of professional services or financial services and proven experience working in stakeholder-rich environments and are energised by issues-led communications. You are known for your judgement, clarity of thinking and ability to translate complex concepts into compelling, plain-language narratives. You are a confident people leader who enjoys developing others, role-modelling strong leadership behaviours and creating a stable, high-performing team culture.
