The Opportunity The Executive General Manager (EGM) Head of Statutory Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of the consolidated financial statements across the organisation. In this role you will ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory financial reporting, adherence to Australian Accounting Standards, drive sustainability reporting and continually improve internal governance frameworks (including compliance under Sarbanes Oxley). Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, you will lead a team of 2 in producing and delivering financial reporting both locally and for our shareholders. You will bring a passion for technical accounting and enjoy working across a diverse, fast-paced team. In addition, you will assist with a range of ad-hoc and project-based initiatives, including the implementation of AASB S2 climate-related disclosures for our first reporting period 30 June 2026. You will enjoy engaging with a range of stakeholders across Finance and the broader La Trobe Financial business and lead the relationship management with our external auditor. You will join the Finance leadership team and participate in regular planning and strategy discussions. Key Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and consolidation of Group financial statements in accordance with AASB and other applicable standards; Lead the quarterly financial reporting to shareholders, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful disclosure; Enhance reporting frameworks to improve financial visibility and leadership decision making; Support the end-to-end process for mandatory climate and sustainability reporting including alignment with frameworks such AASB S1 and S2; Manage the reporting timetable and deliverables across the Finance team; Manage the external auditor relationship, including leading the group audit processes; Monitor and implement changes in accounting, disclosure and ESG reporting standards and regulations; Document accounting policy and technical position papers as required; Develop and evolve robust internal controls, policies and frameworks; Collaborate with broader Finance team, particularly around end of month close processes; Drive and deliver process improvement by working closely with data and technology About You The successful applicant will possess a minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification experience in financial services, ideally having spent time in a group reporting function. Additional skills and experience required include: CA or CPA qualified Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing complex consolidations; Ability to lead a finance team, delegate and oversee reporting processes; Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience liaising with auditors; Analytical and problem-solving skills able to interpret data, identify risks and propose solutions; Interest and curiosity in sustainability reporting; Familiarity with finance systems and experience in streamlining reporting processes; and Integrity and ethical judgement upholding transparency, accuracy and compliance; Resilience and managing a large book of work; Collaboration and team leadership; and Communicating with clarity being able to translate complex technical issues into clear insights for financial stakeholders.
