MADEC Australia is a successful community owned not-for-profit organisation with a proud 50+ year history. Employing around 180 staff across the country and with a turnover circa up to $200m, MADEC delivers employment services, education and training and workforce solutions. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will lead MADECs national workforce division through a significant phase of operational transformation and growth. The workforce division currently onhires up to 2,000 workers, which are sourced through both onshore solutions and the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. This is a pivotal, highimpact role responsible for reshaping the divisions operating model, strengthening commercial performance, modernising systems and processes, and building a scalable platform for future diversification into sectors experiencing skills shortages. This mandate requires a seasoned operational executive with deep experience leading complex, multisite environments and delivering measurable uplift in performance, structure, technology and financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities Developing and executing a comprehensive operational and strategic plan aligned with organisational objectives and future diversification. Leading a full operational transformation, including redesigning processes, procedures, workflows and organisational structures to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability. Driving digital and systems uplift, implementing modern technology solutions that enhance visibility, compliance, workforce deployment efficiency and datadriven decision making. Building scalable operating models capable of supporting higher volume labour hire operations and expansion into new sectors. Identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, including sector diversification and geographic growth. Strengthening financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and commercial analysis to deliver sustainable profitability. Negotiating and managing major client contracts to ensure longterm commercial success and service excellence. Enhancing risk, WHS and compliance frameworks across all operational environments. Leading cultural and organisational change, building capability, accountability and engagement across a diverse, multisite workforce. Developing high performing teams through coaching, professional development and clear performance expectations. Integrating with MADECs employment services and education & training divisions to deliver organisationwide outcomes. MADEC is undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and is seeking expressions of interest from general management professionals not necessarily from the labour hire sector. Commercial acumen and strategic thinking combined with strong leadership, relationship building and negotiation skills will be expected. The successful candidate will have a collaborative mindset, high level communication abilities and an absolute commitment to the delivery of exemplary customer service. Exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder management and communication skills are essential. Experience managing multisite teams, navigating regulatory environments and leading high volume operations will be highly regarded, as will strong knowledge of employment law, WHS and compliance frameworks.
