About the Role This full-time Manager / Associate Director - Commercial Advisory role is based in Melbourne, VIC, with a hybrid work environment that combines office-based and remote work. This role is offered at Manager or Associate Director level, depending on experience. The scope, autonomy and commercial responsibility will scale accordingly. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality strategic and commercial advice on complex projects, working closely with senior clients and leading multidisciplinary teams. At Manager level, the focus is on managing engagements and delivering strong client outcomes; at Associate Director level, the role expands to include greater ownership of client relationships, business development and shaping the direction of the firm. Across both levels, you will work directly with Partners who take an active role in delivery and are invested in your development. This opportunity suits an experienced consulting Manager ready to step up, or an Associate Director looking to deepen their leadership impact in a growing, agile advisory environment. We are seeking applicants that ideally have a blend of strategic and commercial/financial advisory experience and technical skillsets, and who have a proactive attitude and a desire for growth in both these areas. About You You are a strategic, commercial or management advisory professional with: A strong commitment to client service excellence and high-quality delivery. Typically 512 years experience in strategy, transactions or commercial advisory, ideally across infrastructure, services or major projects (role level aligned to experience and capability). Experience working with senior stakeholders, including government departments, executives and delivery partners. Strong project management discipline, including managing teams, budgets and delivery in multidisciplinary environments. Experience developing business cases, options analyses, investment strategies, and planning and executing procurement and transaction processes for public sector clients. Excellent written communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Qualifications in business, economics, commerce or a related field (CA/CPA or similar desirable but not essential). Key Responsibilities Lead and/or manage high-value advisory engagements across the project lifecycle, including strategy development, options analysis, economic and financial appraisal, commercial advisory, business case preparation and implementation planning. Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and client expectations. Facilitate workshops and strategic discussions with senior government and private sector stakeholders. Oversee the preparation of robust, commercially focused deliverables to support major investment and policy decisions. Commercial Advisory & Strategic Analysis Provide commercial and financial analysis to support client decision-making, including tender evaluations, value-for-money assessments, risk allocation and investment prioritisation. Develop procurement and transaction strategies for complex infrastructure and services projects (e.g. D&C, PPP, alliance, ECI, FM, operations). Support clients in designing delivery strategies, governance models, performance frameworks and operating models. Business Development & Thought Leadership Contribute to business development through relationship building, proposal development and market engagement (with responsibility scaling by level). At Associate Director level, take increasing ownership of opportunity origination and client relationship management. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Contribute to TCAPs thought leadership through insights, publications and industry participation.
