We provide support to major mining companies, mid-caps, junior mining and exploration companies, financial institutions, governments, law firms and individual investors on the technical and commercial aspects of mineral property development and have extensive experience in all commodities and mining areas of the world. About The Business And The Role SLR is currently seeking a Principal Consultant Engineering & Finance to join our Advisory group. The role is primarily responsible for the provision of consulting services to our clients and requires extensive Project Management and Engineering experience in Mining Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Project Management experience is imperative for the role. Experience in the role of senior operational management or maintenance roles in the mining industry is desirable. Exposure to financial modelling skills or Project Finance and postgraduate qualifications in these areas would be highly regarded. The successful candidate will have strong onsite operational experience in mining, maintenance, mine infrastructure and/or projects, whilst prior exposure to consulting and Lenders Engineering would be advantageous. This role will enable the successful candidate to rapidly gain experience across various studies and project execution, while working with a team of leading specialists in all aspects of the mining value chain. An interest in working on projects and assignments globally is key to this role, along with a willingness to collaborate with Clients and colleagues from varied cultural backgrounds. Job Tasks And Responsibilities Assist in the undertaking and or reviewing prefeasibility studies, technical reports and due diligence of existing operations or greenfield developments. Participate on site visits to client assets both domestically and internationally. Support the development of new business proposals and their associated budgets. Become the SLR point of contact for our Clients. Verify the scope of work and ensure deliverables are on time. Develop qualified leads and follow up on potential opportunities. Contribute to technical expertise within the company. Work efficiently and effectively as a Project Manager or as a technical expert. Collaborate with clients from project kick off to delivery, maintaining regular follow up engagement. Prepare and review project reports as well as presenting key outcomes to clients. Maintain a wide professional industry network to consolidate and expand SLRs client relationships. Skills And Experience Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering coupled with 10+ years working experience. Operational experience in the mining industry, ideally across multiple sites in technical or operational roles. Technically a leader in your discipline. High performance, selfmotivated individual. Experience contributing to a broad range of project or operational reporting documentation i.e. reports, feasibility studies, etc. Strong commercial acumen and knowledgeable of financial modelling. The ability to communicate complex solutions to a variety of customer stakeholders, from technical to nontechnical. Highlevel English language in both verbal and written form. Must be legally entitled to work in Australia. Postgraduate qualifications in business or finance studies is advantageous.
