ROLE Reporting directly into the Procurement Director ANJ the Head of Agriculture [ANZ] is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing and executing the ANZ agriculture strategy to drive transformative change across their agricultural value chains, leading a team of up to 80+ during peak seasons. This role is instrumental in ensuring a secure, resilient, and sustainable supply of highquality ingredients. The role will integrate agronomic excellence with sharp commercial acumen and procurement insights to enhance capabilities from seed development and agronomy protocols to grower partnerships and processing efficiencies. This individual will partner key stakeholders both internally and externally including agronomy professionals, operations, R&D, commercial, and sustainability departments to achieve breakthrough results in productivity, sustainability, and grower prosperity. A key focus will be to bring end to end visibility of the seasonal crop planning process through the IBP process to drive clear decision making and help reach the business financial targets and objectives. Lead and inspire a high-performing team of agriculture professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Support and implement global standards, protocols, and training programs to uplift agronomic capabilities across our grower network and internal teams. Design, champion, and implement a forward-looking ANZ agriculture strategy that aligns with ANZ overarching business objectives. Drive agricultural transformation that enhances commercial performance, supply chain resilience, and sustainable sourcing for key crops, particularly processing tomatoes. Identify and scale bestinclass agricultural systems (e.g., optimizing the entire seed to table capability from seed, agronomy, grower networks, primary processing and commercial). Collaborate closely with industry partners, and internal R&D teams to identify, evaluate, and deploy innovative technologies, digital farming solutions, and novel approaches. End to end visibility of profitability of the seasonal business driving actions to improve profitability. Work in close partnership with the procurement team to develop integrated sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, and sustainability. Provide agronomic intelligence to support purchasing decisions, supplier development, and contract negotiations. Strategic planning for future crops aligned with all functions from commercial to grower management. Build and maintain influential relationships with key external stakeholders, including growers, suppliers, research institutions, technology providers, government agencies, NGOs, and industry consortiums, particularly those advancing regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 10+ years of experience in agricultural management and field agronomy and/or Procurement management in a similar industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies that integrate agronomic excellence with commercial objectives and sustainability goals. Strong leadership capabilities must have led teams in the past and be capable of displaying culture building initiatives Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively at all levels, from field to executives.
