The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at Island Health is seeking one full-time or two part-time Geriatric Psychiatrists to join a team of 10 in Victoria. The successful candidate will provide geriatric psychiatry consultation to outpatient services at the Seniors Outpatient Clinic (SOPC) at Royal Jubilee Hospital, support the Esquimalt Westshore Health Unit (EWHU), and consult at several Long Term Care Facilities. Opportunities to provide Telehealth consultations to other island communities may also be available. Participation in the Geriatric Psychiatry call rotation is required. The division maintains collegial relationships with Island Healths geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and hospitalist services. Inpatient and outpatient services are supported by interdisciplinary teams. As part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program, there are opportunities for training medical students and residents, and applicants are encouraged to seek a clinical appointment. Research participation is strongly encouraged and supported by Island Health. Successful candidates are expected to participate in departmental, clinical, and operational team meetings and to assume leadership roles when necessary. Start Date: As soon as possible.
