The opportunity Vision Australia is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief People Officer to lead the organisations people, performance and culture agenda at a time of continued evolution and opportunity. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and its committees, the CPO is responsible for ensuring Vision Australia has a sustainable, inclusive and high-performing workforce aligned to our mission and future strategy. This role oversees all aspects of people and culture, including workforce strategy, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, volunteering, wellbeing and organisational performance. In addition, the CPO leads enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives, helping to simplify systems and enable more effective service delivery. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will play a central role in shaping a culture that balances commercial discipline with deep humanity, ensuring Vision Australia remains a great place to work while continuing to deliver meaningful outcomes for the Blind and Low Vision community. A concise, values-led and future-focused senior leader with a strong track record in executive-level people and culture leadership is essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of people and culture, including workforce strategy, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, volunteering, wellbeing and organisational performance. Lead enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives to simplify systems and enable more effective service delivery. Collaborate with the CEO, Board and committees to ensure a sustainable, inclusive and high-performing workforce aligned to Vision Australias mission and strategy. About you / Qualifications You are a senior people and culture leader with a strong track record of operating at the executive level in complex organisations, with deep expertise in workforce strategy, employee relations and cultural transformation. You are recognised as a thoughtful, values-led leader who understands inclusion, wellbeing and belonging, and can confidently navigate change. Experience leading large, diverse workforces, including regulated professionals and volunteers, is highly regarded. Lived experience of blindness or low vision will be highly valued.
