It offers modern infrastructureincluding undercover softfloor pens, efficient weighing systems and strong biosecurity practicesto ensure safe, accurate and sustainable livestock handling for vendors, buyers and the broader agricultural community.The OpportunityThe Livestock Exchange Supervisor leads the daily operations of the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange, ensuring the saleyards run safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry and legislative requirements. The role oversees staff, maintenance, contractor activity, and stakeholder engagement to deliver highquality service and uphold animal welfare and biosecurity standards. It also provides operational leadership through effective planning, budgeting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities IncludeManage asset and infrastructure maintenance, including handson maintenance of yards and floors, to ensure they are clean, safe, wellmaintained, and fully prepared before each sale.Lead daily operations of the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange, coordinating staff, sale days, and stakeholder engagement.Oversee compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, NLIS, NSQA, and emergency management requirements.Monitor budgets, oversee procurement, and support financial reporting and capital planning.Promote a strong safety culture, ensure OHS compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all site activities.This is a full time, ongoing position based in Bairnsdale.
