The RoleDue to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Building Surveyor / Building Surveyor to join the team in a handson, technical role. You''ll be responsible for delivering technical building surveying services, managing your own projects, and supporting the development of junior team members.Key responsibilities include:Assessing project documentation and issuing advice on compliance with the Building Act, Building Regulations, NCC and relevant StandardsManaging and issuing building permits efficiently and professionallyProviding guidance on alternative compliance pathways where requiredUndertaking site inspections, client meetings and stakeholder coordinationLiaising with councils, authorities and consultants as part of the approvals processManaging project documentation and ensuring job files are maintained accuratelyMentoring junior staff and contributing to capability development across the teamSupporting continuous improvement and contributing to the ongoing growth of the businessAbout YouWe''re looking for someone who enjoys being handson technically, while also being involved with clients and team development.You will ideally have:A relevant tertiary qualification in Building Surveying (or equivalent)Strong working knowledge of the Act, Regulations, NCC and Australian StandardsExperience delivering technical building surveying services and issuing permits (preferred)Confidence mentoring junior surveyors and sharing technical knowledgeA professional, proactive approach and strong communication skillsFire engineering experience (desirable, but not essential)What''s on OfferAlbert Parkbased role with a hybrid working model (2 days wfh)Competitive salary aligned with experienceSupportive, energetic team cultureOpportunity to play a meaningful role in the growth of the businessAbout the BusinessWe are a growing Building Surveying consultancy based in Albert Park, working across a diverse mix of commercial, residential, industrial and healthcare projects.
